Who can join Sea Cadets?
Any Canadian citizen or permanent resident (i.e. landed immigrant) from the ages 12-18 may join.
How much does it cost to join?
There is no direct cost to any youth who wishes to join Sea Cadets. Cadets are however, expected to participate in corps fundraising activities from time to time. These initiatives help support optional and extra activities.
Parents are encouraged to join the Navy League Branch. The money raised from the annual membership fee is used towards corps activities and up-keep. For more information on joining the Greater Vancouver Branch of the Navy League of Canada, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
What do I need to join?
In order to join Sea Cadets, you must complete the application form (below), provide a copy of your Birth Certificate or Citizenship Papers and a copy of your Health Card. This information is required for age verification, in case of emergencies and for the purposes of insurance (while training).
What forms do I need?
The application form for Sea, Army and Air Cadets is called the CF1158. It can be downloaded below in PDF form. If you have any questions or concerns with your paperwork, please bring it in on a Wednesday Night and speak with our Administration Staff.
What do I need to do?
When you bring the forms we outlined below, please be sure to bring:
- Your son/daughter/ward’s BC Care Card
- Your son/daughter/ward’s Birth Certificate
- Passport or Valid Government ID proving age and identity.
Where & when do I go?
All you need to do is bring the items listed above and your parent/guardian to HMCS DISCOVERY, 1200 Stanley Park Drive, Vancouver BC on any Wednesday (unless it is a Holiday). We parade from 1815hrs until 2130hrs. See map below for assistance.
